Cast away is great movie that is directed by Robert ZemeckisSome important themes that I am going to write about are hopeperseverance survival that we came across in the film The symbols werevery meaningful and symbolic a pocket watch and Wilson the volleyballand the wings which greatly had an impact on Chucks stay on the islandAlso the setting affected the characters way of life whether it was onthe island or his home The movie Cast Away is about a man named Chuck Noland whoworks as a supervisor for the FedEx Company until he chooses to fly aplane with a few pilots and himself after Christmas day for his jobSuddenly the plane gets caught in a horrible storm The plane crashesdown to the ocean When Chuck wakes up the next day he realizes he wasbeen washed away in a raft to this island He engages battling againstsurviving on this island On shore he finds volleyball that he namesWilson The ideas that are significantly portrayed are the crossroads atthe end of the film presenting the intersection of time and space therewere four different paths showing that at every step Chuck is subjectedto uncontrollable events that can change his life But he had faith inhimself to overcome that While chuck was getting on the plane hisfiance Kelly gifted him a pocket watch that has a picture of her in itas well This was the most important personal item that was with himwhen he was on the island He believed that Kelly was there with himmentally on the island Therefore he had hopes of believing in himselfKellys picture was a talisman that gave him strength to never give upBeing lost in the wilderness and loneliness drove him insane While hewas exploring the island a few FedEx packages washed ashore Hecollected them
