In 2003 Georgia state legislative system declared that it was inappropriate for students to have cell phones in their possession at school There are many cons to this law and very often teachers get carried away with the taking up of phones Furthermore the time cell phone restrictions start should be reduced cell phones should be allowed in hallways and students should be allowed to carry their phones on themTo start off at Parkview cell phone restrictions begin being enforced at seven am This makes no sense considering classes start at seven thirty am One time a girl named Shelby needed to text her mom because she left an important assignment on her kitchen table and needed to be brought to school She pulled out t her phone at 714 am and just as she was about to hit send an administrator snatched up her phone Secondly on page 15 of the Parkview Student agenda under Cell Phones and Pagers it states Cell phones pagers maybe used at school only after the 210 pm dismissal bell During lunch and class transitions students should be allowed to pull out their phone and text their friends play games etc At lunch we have 20 minutes to eat however most students are done after about 10 or 15 minutes This leaves five to ten minutes to study sit around or talk to friends but what if their conversation isnt intriguing That would be a great time to pull out your phone and text your other friends or maybe Google entertaining topics to converse about Finally students should be allowed to carry their phones with them and have them turned on Phones left in a book bag in an unattended classroom had a higher chance of getting stolen than having it in your back pocket Furthermore cell phones should be allowed to be turned on during school because a student might miss very important Remind101 notifications or texts from
