Who does not have a cell phone these days The amazing thing about cell phones is that they are no longer used just for calling and texting According to these biopsychosocial model Over the last decade there has been a rapid diffusion of cellular technology Though cell phone use began as a business tool it has now become part of popular culture Engel and Green They have become important for multi-tasking in our lives They can help students search for answers and takes notes However they can be distracting students might text or scan sites instead of paying attention to their lessons With this in mind should students and teachers use their cell phones in the classroom As a student in college I do believe that cell phones shouldnt be allowed in the classroom because they distract the students they are being used to cheat on tests and they frustrate the teachers To begin with cell phones are the biggest distraction on students learning Cell phones are taking away the students attention from the materials that the teacher is trying to teach because students use their cell phones in the classroom even if theres a lesson going on Students are not learning because they too busy using their cell phone that is not important in the lesson As a matter of fact I have seen a lot of students using their cell phones while doing group activities There are some students who use their cell phones when even doing individual activities in the classroom Students that are using their cell phones in the classroom distract other students that are trying to pay attention and improve their grades However students are not the only ones who distract others by using their cell phones Teachers also use their cell phones They use them to check emails that they might have received when theyre not at their computers This does not set
