Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said Nothing endures but change Change is not a single occurrence instead it is an ongoing process an everlasting element of nature When I step outside my home I find that at any given moment thousands of changes are taking place and will continue to do so There are many changes though that should transpire and are significant to our society In the field of Medicine one which I am particularly interested in there are innumerable amounts of technology that continue to develop and make easier the tasks that once required a extensive amount of manual labor Equally important is the fact that as technology increases so does our knowledge of the human body we are able to go in-depth and study the body at a molecular level I want to sharpen my focus to one branch of medicine surgery Surgery begets many new technologies and technicians that dedicate their lives to improving the efficiency of surgery laser surgery is the brainchild of these technicians As of now laser surgery is still infrequent and may only be available in large cities hence I picture a society where laser surgery is as common or even more popular than conventional surgical methods Laser surgery promotes increased accuracy and precision far more than what can be achieved using hands I have a plan for surgery to be advanced to the stage where a surgeon is able to operate on a patient in New York while relaxing on a beach in Miami This is quite tangible it could be made possible by use of a laptop a high-speed connection established exclusively for remote surgery and of course special electronic gloves will need to be installed onto hisher laptop for dexterous finger movements Laser technology assumes a paramount function in remote surgery although robotic arms are a lot more adroit than a human hand they are both still holding scalpels and other small objects used to
