Lord of the Ring is one of the most famous movies in the world It consists of three series of movies which are the fellowship or the Ring The two towers and the return of the King Lord of the Ring is about groups of people who fight to destroy a Ring that made by Sauron Aragorn fight in war to stop Saurons army and Frodo sneaked into Mordor to destroy a Ring I choosed it because I wonder how I can apply what we learned in Film 101 into common and famous movie like Lord of the Ring I focused on editing in Lord of the Ring since Lord of the Ring is based on fantasy so there are many different special effects visuals and sounds Editing in Lord of the Ring was used to make film intensePeter Jackson changed the characteristics of characters to heighten the dramatic effect and makes balance of two somewhat separated stories The movie Lord of the Ring by Peter Jackson has its original work which is the novel Lord of the Ring by JRR Tolkien So it was easier to see how Peter Jackson arranged the story Basically there are two main stories in Lord of the Ring One is the adventure of Sam and Frodo and the other is the adventure of Aragorn Gandalf and their friends Peter Jackson changed the characteristics of the characters of the story to maintain same level of intensity for both sides For example in Lord of the Ring The two towers there are battles of Helms deep According to the novel Sam and Frodo had peaceful time under protection of Faramir when Aragorn fight in Helms deep But if Sam and Frodo just take a rest when Aragorn fight that will significantly lower the intensity of the battle in Helms deep So Peter Jackson changed the characteristic of Faramir In movie Faramir be blinded by the power of the ring So
