I think that Egeus is not doing the right thing because he is prettymuch controlling his daughter love life and her future Even though itis the law that the parent could make the decision for who they marryit is not right Forcing someone else to marry another person that theydo not like may cause rebellion death and lots of drama People will rebel if they do not get what they want and in the firstact of A Midsummer Nights Dream Lysander convinced Hermia to run awaywith him She accepts his offer because she doesnt want to marryDemetrius or die at a young age It is understanding though becauseEgeus ruthless decision forced Hermia whether to run away or dieEspecially since she doesnt want to marry Demetrius if she is not inlove with himForcing people to marry someone else if they are both not in love couldcause disasters For example one could kill their selves if they arenot satisfied or poison their spouse so they could hopefully marry theone they love But if the spouse who kills themselves and their lovernot the husbandwife they are forced to married sees that they aredead Then they may accused that person for killing their lover and killthem Therefore creating more chains of death because the personsfamily could get revenge for them so onJust like Romeo and Juliet there is going to be more drama because ifHermia wants to see Lysander and pretends that she is going to marryDemetrius but instead fakes her death There will be complications likeRomeo and Juliet and the wrong thing will happen and no one liveshappily ever after Instead there will be a lot of issues going aroundthe town and Egeus may learn from his decision in forcing his daughterto marry someone she doesnt like Forcing people to do something will most likely cause them to do theopposite If you word it like It is your best interest to do your workbecause its your decision
