In Mary Shelleys Frankenstein Victor describes his monster as a wretched ugly being highlighting his hideous watery eyes horrid yellowish skin and dreadful face Monsters are generally classified as monsters based on their appearances A vital part of that is their strength muscles their stature and their facial expressions Vampires ogres giants and other monstrosities are recognized as such by being extremely frightening and terrifying A supernatural large stature is expected when the word monster comes to mind and this goes along with their terrifying qualities and traits However despite these stereotypes and broad descriptions a real monster is defined by their temperament Being a true monster involves harming other people not possessing emotions and repeating crimes and murders viciously Perhaps the generalizations of a monster hold some truth however none of them excavate into the actual traits of a monster The combination of the generalizations and exact behaviors and personalities construct a monster Consequently we may define a monster as a creature that harms other people or other beings lacks any type of emotion and replicates his horrible crimes vigorously A primary quality that defines a creature as a monster is the impression that a monster is harmful to other people or beings A monster wouldnt be a monster if it existed as a friendly nice and heroic being thats what superheroes are for Being harmful takes multiple forms for example it could be injuring another person physically or tearing a habitat apart An example of severe harm in our world is domestic violence for example a husband who beats his innocent wife until she is numb is he a monster Many would say yes he is senselessly injuring an innocent woman which makes his personality monstrous Another example would be murdering people A monster is normally associated with murder in some way whether its a mass murder including the destruction of a city or town or simply an individual that is being
