Imagine your child home alone watching their favorite TV show while youre at work The TV is extremely loud Your child hears a window break Instantly he turns the television down As your child hesitates to dial your number to call you he hears footsteps coming up the stairs He or she dials your number with quickness As soon as you pick up the phone you start to panic as the sound of your childs screams go further and further away from the phone then the line disconnects At all times a child should feel safe Sometimes a firearm is something a child may need to use on an attacker to feel safe In some cases when children have found a gun it has been misused Gun safety should be taught to young children so they know what action to take if they encounter a firearmIt has been proven that when children encounter a firearm it doesnt end to well when they dont take the right actions Children should know how to take action if they encounter a firearm Think about when your child is over a neighbors house hanging out with their child Your child and his friend are looking around trying to find something to do and they find a loaded gun Your child is curious and picks up the gun The child is playing around with the gun and fires it accidentally That one bullet can be the death of your child or your neighbors child Children shouldnt be around guns but if it occurs they need to act responsibly Gallup says about 40 percent of US households have guns The National Rifle Association puts the number at about half Either number is significant enough to suggest teens have a pretty good chance at being in a house with a gun Its best they know how to act if they are Regardless of whether you have guns there likely will come a
