Jim's feedback:
"This is an interesting essay. You can write more concisely with no loss of meaning. For example, I would write the first sentence as, “Leviticus 11 deals with the subject of cleanness and uncleanness, specifically clean and unclean foods.” Avoid informal language such as “a lot.” Perhaps I misunderstand, but I am not sure “cognates” is the word you want. When referring to a word or term as a thing, such as the word “clean,” you should place it in quotation marks. Take care to match subjects and verbs in number, i.e., a singular subject with a singular verb, and similarly for plural terms. “Second, the sea creatures,” is not a complete sentence, although you might take stylistic license in this case, depending on requirements. A comma can make a difference. For example, as written, “dead animals which are unclean,” means “unclean dead animals,” as distinguished from clean dead animals. But “dead animals, which are unclean,” makes the point that dead animals (all of them) are unclean."
