Racism is a very touchy subject for some people Some think that its not a problem and that its not affecting the world but its actually one of the biggest global issues I hade a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judge by the color of their skin but by the content of character Martin Luther King said in 1963 Racism is generally define as an action practices or beliefs that consider the human species to be divided into races with shared traits abilities or qualities such as personality intellect morality or the cultural behavior characteristics and especially the belief that races can be ranked as inherently superior or inferior to others or that members of different races should be treated differentlyA lot of people become racist because they have been taught to be It may have been as a small child they grew up in a racist family and or community It may have been in their teens because of peer-pressure from their friends or music As a child myself I was exposed to many different races in the community I grew up in in Belgium I was taught to respect everyone and their differences Unfortunately in my community there was a lot or racism My father always tells me the story of his first day of school in Belgium at eight years old after moving from Turkey to Belgium All the kids would call him Sale Turk where did they get that expression from Probably from their parents or hearing other adults saying it otherwise why would that come in their heads If we have been taught to be racist cant we be taught not be racist Treat people the way you want to be treatedIgnorance plays a big role in racism because people dont understand the differences between cultures They may be jealous that certain races are smarter
