Tajumarus elaborate description of the crime best illustrates what genuinely happened Because of his criminal nature and nothing-to-loose attitude his testimony fits more so than that of another witness Tajumarus confession and testimony of the murder unveil he is aware officials already see him as a guilty criminal and that he has nothing to loose by turning himself in Not only that but the other testimonies are further consistent with his than any others For example Tajumaru explains to the guards that no torture can make him confess to what he doesnt know stating that although he can tell the truth that he knows time he cannot tell how someone else views the same situation At the same time however his recant of the crime matches most of the testimonies of the witnesses revealing that his confession is consistent and true Also Tajumaru has nothing to loose by acknowledging he responsible for the murder It is already evident that everyone in the town suspects him and that they have more than enough affirmations to convict him Tajumaru leads to the conclusion that he is already perceived as guilty therefore admitting to the murder saving himself and the police much needed time Almost like if a former drug addict is found with marijuana if police catch him it is obvious he is guilty therefore she he no other logical explanation but to tell the truth Overall I would trust Tajumarus testimony the most because of its similar relation to the other stories and because of his criminal past
