To be a good health care provider you not only need to be skilled in your job field but you also must be able to work with others well and provide good care for all kinds of patients There are five concepts that can help you achieve that goal The five concepts are Communication Team Work and Consensus Conflict Resolution Healthy Relationships and Problem Solving These concepts work hand in hand to help you be a good health care provider with techniques to communicate with people how to deal with conflict and problems and how to work well with others in general I want to be the best I can be at my job and these concepts will help me so much in achieving my goalCommunication can be used in two ways verbal and non-verbal Verbal communication is the exchange of information using spoken or written words between individuals Non-Verbal communication is wordless messages that expresses more of the meaning than verbal communication If I was to be talking to a patient I would need to make sure I was using terms they can understand I would need to know the developmental level of my patient so I can choose my words correctly and never use foul language If I were to ever have to deliver a message through a phone I would need to speak clearly and not talk too fast or too slow Non-verbal communication shows different emotions such as fear anger surprise contempt disgust happiness sadness The way these emotions are interpreted depends on the different cultures Body language is 55 of all communication and spoken word is only 7 If I am working especially with a patient I will need to make sure I have positive and happy body language even if I dont feel that way because the patient need to feel comfortable and trusts me to do my job right Teamwork and consensus are very important
