Mrs White from the monkeys paw and the landlady from the landlady arecomplete in their actions in the stories When Mrs white uses themonkeys paw to grant tree whishes and the second wish is to bring herson back to life but then something goes terribly wrong Unlike thelandlady where she tries to kill a boy named Billy then stuff him andkeep him on the third floor of her bed and breakfast with two other menEven though the dark and creepy moods created by the imagery andsettings in the monkeys paw and the landlady are very similar thecharacters Mrs white and the landlady are very different in theiractions through out the stories Although the setting in both stories are set in England on a chillynight The monkeys paw setting is set out in the country where you haveyour own space to roam Instead of the landlady where it is set in thecity with building after building and not much room to roam In the endthe monkeys paw turns out to be more suspenseful when Mrs white makesthe second wish with the monkeys paw Even though the landlady is alsosuspenseful but in the end the story it becomes more sinister becauseof what the landlady tries to doThe imagery in both stories is taken place in England on a cloudy dayIn the monkeys paw they live in a cottage out in the country with thereown space roam At the beginning of monkeys paw it is a chilly night butin the morning is peaceful but in the end of the story it is a windnight the walls are creaking and then all of a sudden it becomescompletely silent However in the landlady it takes place in the citywhere there are other building surrounding the bed and breakfast Duringthe story it is a quite night there is a nice fire going and outsidethere is just a steady rain fallingMrs white and the landlady are complete opposites because of how
