Antigone was struck with grief when her brothers had killed each other and suffered worse when one was refused a burial Hamlets father died causing morning and worse he had to act out his fathers revenge causing more grief in the end The human sense of grief is a lot more complex than most animals therefore behaving in different ways Antigone and Hamlet have similar goals though they hare after different things Antigone personality is very different than HamletsAntigone cause of grief was the death of the last of her family her brothers Polynices and Eteocles They killed each other one for the city and one was rebel When they died Eteocles received a burial while Polynices was left as food for the carrion She attempted to bury her brother but was foiled as they uncovered him again She attempted it again but was caught and brought to Creon Where she was sentenced to death Hamlet grief was when is fathered was killed which later he found out was murdered by his uncle Claudius who immediately married his mother not soon after added more salt to the wound He was confronted by his fathers ghost asking him to take revenge on his death In the end nothing goes as planned and mostly everyone ends up dead Both Antigone and Hamlets family members died Mostly everyone dies in both tales While Antigone took a less violent route of how she reacted toward her brothers death over Hamlets revenge toward his father Both share equal determination to reach their goalsAntigone was scared of what would happen if her brother Polynices werent buried Because if he wasnt buried he wouldnt be able to pass to the underworld She was also mad at Creon for enacting such a ridiculous law that kept her from burying her brother She was also loyal to gods much more than to Creon Believing it is wrong to disobey the gods
