In the story Button Button and the movie The Box we come across a couple named Norma and Arthur Lewis in which face many starling issues for choosing money over love and family and must face the true nature of their humanity The short story and movie are quite similar in a sense where they receive a simple wooden box as a gift which results in fatal consequences Mr Steward the mysterious strange man delivers a message to the couple informing them that the box if pressed will bestow upon the owner money in return but will simultaneously cause a death of an unknown person somewhere in the world Norma Lewis is one character in both genres in which faces many obstacles trying to figure out if the money is worth the death of another human being and destroying her relationship with Arthur However Norma doesnt realize that every action comes with a price nothing is free and especially not 50000 or 1 million dollars Normas character is quite different and similar in the short story and in the movie In the short story Norma doesnt really care about her relationship with Arthur money is life and nothing can change that The connection between her and her husband is not that devoted in the short story but in the movie the love for each other is very evident The love for money shows a persons true character it can also make them more committed to the money then to their family Norma in the short story Button Button contains similar and different characteristics in the movie The Box such as being greedy not remorseful and not devoted in her marriageMoney can make a person really greedy yet greed can make you go crazy and craziness can make you do stuff that in time will make you regret Norma is a character in the story and movie which resembles the need for
