Learning about conflicts in the world is very important and people should learn all about what they might face In the book there are many conflicts between characters most of them are issues that people all around the world must face It is important for kids to learn how to overcome these obstacles because in an already overwhelming world for most teenagers it will make growing up just a little bit easier Although Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes may seem like a bad book and contain material that could upset some people it is still important to read because it teaches kids life lessons and conflicts they many face in their lives like abortion suicide and bullyingAlthough I believe Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes is an important book for teenagers to read I realize how in depth the issues are presented For instance when Ms Lemrys class decides that their topic of choice will be abortion the students go into great detail about why abortion is ok or why it is not Many things are said in their long discussion but something that was said may influence kids that abortion is ok Abortion is not murder it is a decision Meagan Quote Crutcher 90Many people might think that a book that talks about violence and other scary issues should not be taught in a school because of how that might affect the students But what people dont realize is that learning about these controversial topics may help young people in the long run A very important issue that appears in the book is suicide Mentioning suicide and death in a book can be overwhelming to some people because they could have experienced something like that but in Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes they author tells us how we can overcome the tragic events of attempting suicide Quote Similarly this book can teach kids very important things There are many lessons that people can learn
