Drunk Driving has been a problem for many years Before you would just get a slap on a wrist but now you will serve time It is an issue today because so many driving casualties are caused by drunk driving The stories are all sad but the ones that stick out more are the ones about teenagers There has been a lot of teenage drunk driving in the past years Although there have been programs to help with this problem it seems to be not solving the whole problem Something needs to happen to solve this problem something that will solve the problem for good You never fully understand something until it actually affects you When I was thirty one years old my husband Chris was hit by a drunk driver The driver was only sixteen The drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit my husband Chris slammed into a pole trying to miss the two teenagers that were in the carChris was taken to the hospital by med-flight My husband almost lost his life because of this drunk driver My husbands life changes affected my whole family Since the car accident my family has went through many tuff times Due to some brain injuries caused by the accident my husband past away ten years later This teenagers decision to drive home drunk messed up my family Ever since this happened to my family I knew that I would never drive drunk I would never want to mess up someones family like a drunk driver messed up mine My daughters senior year there was this program called Every Fifteen Minutes This program puts on a show of a car accident caused by drunk driving Then the students evolved with the show talks about their experiment and how it affected them Then there are guest speakers who have lost loved ones due to drunk driving This program is very emotional for most students and it
