Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is caused when women have consumed alcohol during any stages of her pregnancy There are three terms to describe Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder which are Fetal Alcohol Syndrome FAS Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder ARND and Alcohol Related Birth Defects ARBD Fetal Alcohol Syndrome describes a full range of disorders such as ADHD also known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder learning disabilities up to the most severe Physical defects at birth My main focus here is FAS just remember all these disorders are similar to each other The result of FASD is a lifetime battle for individuals affected as well as the community they live in One in every 750 infants is born with FAS physical developmental and functional problems We must spread the news about drinking while pregnant so the number of infants born with FAS can be reducedCoping with a child with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is not an easy task however with the proper understanding you could make a day less stressful Fetal Alcohol Syndrome also known as FAS is common today and we need to be willing to learn how to deal with the situation Fetal Alcohol Syndrome was extremely frustrating for me at first Im here to try to give you all some understand about this disorder and how to deal with it at home I have four children that have me busy 247 do to a few disorders I found that as a mother of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome it can either break you or make you do to the fear of the unknown I went through both stages nevertheless I found myself coming out of the unknown because of my research However my research taught me that ADHD could be reversible while FAS was irreversible As a parent I had to learn to cope and deal with the issues within my home and within the school district my child attended
