Eighty-six percent of children between the ages of twelve and fifteen said that they get teased or bullied at schoolmaking bullying more prevalent than smoking alcohol drugs or sex among the same age group Many people have long-term effects from being bullied therefore the bully should also have a long-term effect of a criminal record Bullying has believed to be a normal part of life however it has a huge impact on a persons personal life So many people do not know how to deal with bullying or who to talk to so they harm themselves or others including family members The National Association of School Psychologists did a survey and found out that about one in seven school children have either been a bully or have been bullied A bully is a person that wants to put down others to show that they have power Some people believe that bullies have very high self-esteem and others believe that bullies have very low self-esteem and they are trying to get a person to feel the same way or simply just to get attention What bullies do not know or do not understand is how much they can hurt a person mentally and how it can affect them for the rest of their life There are so many different types of bullying and verbal bullying is the most frequent between both genders People use verbal bullying to put someone down and make them feel as though they are useless so it is easier for the bully to attack the target Verbal bullying includes name calling taunting cruel criticism personal defamation racist slurs and sexual remarks all done to the face over the internet emails phone calls text messages or rumors Most people think that kids that use verbal bullying are just playing around of just teasing each other but what people do not understand is that
