Childhood obesity has almost tripled in the last 25 years approximately26 of Canadian children ages 2-17 are currently overweight or obesePeople blame this on the government for not taking serious measures andnot banning junk food from schools If junk food isnt banned fromschools childhood obesity will keep rising Affected adults may die upto 3 to 7 years earlier than they would with a healthy weight If thistrend continues in 20 years we can expect 70 of the 35 - 44 year oldsin Canada to be overweight or obese vs 57 who are currently overweightor obese But its not the governments fault for the rise of obesity Whois really at fault Parents Childhood obesity is rising but it is notthe governments fault or responsibility it is the parentsresponsibility and fault and if junk food is banned from schools kidswill think of it even more as a jail and also if junk food is bannedthe schools will be making less moneyThe rise of childhood obesity is one hundred percent the parents faultIt really has nothing to with the government The government doesnthave the power to ban foods from schools The people have the power andby people I mean parents If parents want junk food banned from schoolthey can easily make that happen Healthy lifestyles start at the homeIf parents were so concerned of their childs weight they would stopbringing junk into their own house You cant control whats being soldat school but you can control whats coming into your house Schools mayhave unhealthy choices being sold on school grounds but where do thekids get their money From their parents who are making the schoolsmoney so the school keeps selling items Blaming the government is thewrong thing to do blame the parents Parents need to show theirchildren a healthy lifestyle if the parents are healthy and exerciseand eat good food the kids will take that in and will eat healthy Kidswill make good decisions when buying a lunch
