Can you imagine spending more than 100 dollars on a gallon of milk not knowing if tomorrow that price will skyrocket again Can you imagine only being able to get a few hours of work a week not nearly enough to pay for food or support your family This is the grim future that over spending by the American government will bring us to In order to prevent this dismal future the United States must downsize its military immediately Our countrys enormous military is bloated and wasteful and is leading our economy to eventual collapse The United States government has been in a deficit since 2001 Our country has to put an end to the spending In the current fiscal year the United States is going to spend 973 billion dollars over what is going to make Although National Defense only accounts for a portion of contributing factors to our countrys budget deficit it is the most wasteful and easily trimmed down Almost a quarter of the complete federal budget is given to defense a total of 857 billion dollars to be exact Now imagine if we could trim 30 percent off that defense budget With less federal spending the dollar could be brought back to life and America could once again be an economic superpower instead of a super spender Fifty years ago it was essential to have a large military with the Soviet Union waiting for a chance to strike a large military was imperative to the preservation of America Today America is not in the same threat level to constitute a military of its current size Currently America is number one in the world in regards to military strength But why is America so desperate to hold onto this title All the countries in the top ten contention for the title are all allies of the US or engaged in mutually beneficial economic and political exchanges with America In fact
