Under the Constitution of the United States our country stands for freedom liberty and the pursuit of happiness Our country is known as the melting pot of the world If this is true how come two people of the same sex do not get the same rights as any other citizen in a country thats supposed to be accepting of diversity Homosexuals are not allowed to be legally bonded together therefore they do not have the right to be free and or happy Its hard to even believe that gay marriage is not recognized in the United Sates For our country to have anti-gay marriage laws is wrong I believe that denying our citizens with discrimination is a crime within itselfIf the United Sates can allow heterosexual couples the right to marriage and all the benefits that come along with marriage but then deny couples of different sex is a sign of our country reverting back into times when segregation was acceptable Denying diversity is taking us way back into time when women didnt even have the right to vote Not allowing gay marriage is denying the rights of being an American citizen To me it is clear that in the eyes of the church they do not recognize gay marriage I believe its the churchs fault for this long battle in not allowing gay marriage Again it clearly states in our Constitution that all American citizens shall have equal rights yet homosexuals are still treated differently Why are they treated differently Does it really matter that they are attracted to the same sex They cant help who they fall in love with they are just like any other human being I bet you cant help who you fall in love with like I said love is very uncontrollable it happens and there really is not one thing you can do about it Anyways If we allow gay marriage is it really going to hurt
