1 You are being interviewed by superintendent for an elementary position Tell me What would you do the first two or three weeks of school to establish your discipline plan and classroom rules Well Mr Jones I would have the class help me make up the rules As they are said by the students we will write them on the board and discuss them After we have picked the ones that we feel will be most helpful we will make up a chart and post it in the room I feel that the students will better follow rules that they have helped to make themselves I will also have the children act out the rules They can put on plays to demonstrate the dos and donts of the classroom 2 You are being interviewed by the principal of the building where you are applying for an elementary position how would you handle these two discipline problems 1 Students who lack motivation and do not turn in homework 2 Students who are constantly talking out and trying to show off Well for the first one students that are lacking motivation and not turning in homework I would make learning more fun I would do special activities for the lessons that will keep the attention span of the students Then I would limit my amount of homework only to what I feel is necessary for the children to benefit from I would make their homework fun not just long writing assignments For the second one I would explain to the students that are trying to show off and talking out that they are disturbing the other students and that they can do those kinds of things out on the playground or at recess I could also have a show-and-tell to give each student the chance to be in the spotlight for a few minutes 3 The principal asks you how you feel about
