Each and every company has the challenge on how to make employees give their full potential through motivation Sometimes we are easily tempted to think about money as possibly the only motivator as far as employees are concerned but in reality the factors that are in play are actually very many Schultz Duane 2010 This is very evident in a research that was conducted across the globe that was centered in different organizations and we will try to explain some of the key motivation factors that are spread across different organizations against some of the common motivation theories that have been advanced A descriptive survey method of research was used to collect some data using mainly questionnaires Some of the institutions that was studied was the Piketon Research and Extension Center in Ohio where some of the factors that were found to motivate employees include good wages interesting work work appreciation job security good working environment progress and growth within the organization employer loyalty to the employees having sympathy and help on personal problems The CEO of Inc 500 Company Lander International has enhanced happiness within the workers by encouraging the employees to amalgamate work to their outside hobbies and interests In the southwest airlines the employees are encouraged by the tactful discipline from the managers and directors and by the fact that they are left to feel that they are the ones responsible for most things without very close supervisionSome of these factors are further endorsed by Maslows need hierarchy theory like interesting work which is a self-actualizing factor good wages is a physiological appreciation to work done is an esteem factor and job security is also a safety factor Schultz Duane 2010 Interesting work can also be directly linked to Vrooms expectancy theory According to Adams Equity theory if one employees work is always appreciated more than anothers this is likely to de-motivate one who is not being appreciated
