Raising a strong family dynamic can be challenging for both non-traditional and traditional families In Stone Soup Barbara Kingsolver view that children of non-traditional families are often no less well-off than traditional families is an accurate viewpoint in many ways Although nuclear families may argue that raising a child traditionally is the best way to go the only difference between these two groups of families is the challenges that they are faced with however the outcome of a childs upbringing remain the same Children from non-traditional families often receive the same amount of support and nurturing from family members show no signs of academic incapabilitys and can maintain a stable social environment In a traditional family household where both parents are present composed of a mother and father are capable of dividing responsibilities in half when it comes to raising a child Hence it may be the mothers responsibility to cook and get the child ready for school Where as the father may be responsible to pick and drop off the child to school piano recitals or any other extra-curricular activities By having both parents present the stress-level is at a low because the burden of raising a child is not weighed heavily on one individual parent As a result both parents can make time to support and tend to their childs needs When a child becomes aware of both parents presence the child is usually not faced with a feeling of neglect or abandonment On the other hand in a non-traditional family household where only one parent is present raising a child on their own can be challenging Hence single-parents whether a father mother or grandparent must play both roles of a parent and must tackle all responsibilities such as cooking getting the child ready for school and taking heshe to school or any other extra-curricular activities Even though a single-parent stress-level may
