What is the American Dream It is defined as the traditional social ideas of the US such as equality democracy and material prosperity This American dream to me explains everyone at some time in their lives would love to have the American Dream I will explain my feelings on whether its true if you work hard you will obtain the American Dream can everyone obtain work gets the American DreamAt a young age until your old enough to be on your own you are taught that hard work and dedication will get you everything you want in life What happens when you work hard and do everything that the ideas give to have the American dream and it does not pay off I feel that hard work pays off for some people not all people Janny Scott and David Leonahart couldnt have said it better Class Matters You can be in the lower class and stereotyped as you wont put in the effort to achieve the dream You can be in the working class and only be that to only have enough to obtain that house that car and enough to make sure your bills are paid You can be in the middle and upper class and feel like that you have obtained the American Dream and frown upon the working and lower class and feel they didnt work as hard as you did In reality they could have work as hard as you did but for whatever reason could not obtain the American Dream like the middle and upper class did For an example you are taught that education is the key to success I know people who have master degrees and are in the lower class because they are over qualified The best education in the world and still dont have the dream Some could be over qualified some could be not the right person for the job and anything could put a
