Two situations have left footprints in my life These two situations have helped me with my personal development and strong desire to prepare myself intellectually in different areas The first one is being a basketball player I started practicing when I was 10 years old When I first started practicing it was not easy I stopped playing basketball until I got to high school During 9th and 10th grade I played on the JV Girls Basketball Team for Sherwood High School Now during my senior year I play on the Girls Varsity Basketball Team for Springbrook High School The hardest part for me was to be on a team but to have to sit and watch and not play or perhaps play a few minutes I was a substitute player and I felt bad because of that Sometimes I just wanted to give up and stop playing because my pride was hurt and I didnt believe in myself However my brother without knowing my feelings had always motivated me to keep on trying and helped me to feel good about myself I practiced six days a week and two hours a day After a while all that practice started to pay off I started to play in the games for longer periods of time Finally I was one of the team members who opened the games and eventually started and finished in the same game It was wonderful The feeling of doing things such as running fighting for the ball being exhausted and defending my area always made me excited I always played with the satisfaction of doing my best The practicing for three years finally paid off Through this wonderful sport I learned that perseverance responsibility and confidence are fundamental to achieve my goal I learned that team work is vital for better results in the game I also learned that I
