It was discovered by observing the phenotypes of the offspring the genotypes of the parents were closest to punnet 22 Table 1 shows that in the group results 88 were green and 13 were white Based on the group results it was first expected to be punnet 22 because green is dominant and white is recessive If the sample size was larger the results could have altered and become closer to possibility 25 The percentage would also be closer to 75 green and 15 white than it was with a smaller sample sizeBased on the genotypes 14 of the group plants were green and 21 were albino The results show that green is dominant and albino is recessive It can also be seen in Graph 2 that the green plants grew at a greater rate than the albino due to pigmentation Scientific theory states that plants with chlorophyll should grow and albino shouldnt The results reflect on the theory and it can be seen that because of photosynthesis the green plants were able to convert their own food from energySources of error throughout the experiment could be found and changed the results slightly One of the sources of error was the time of day that the plants were measured On the days we had a lesson we would measure it in the lesson and the days we didnt have a lesson the measurements were taken during the lunch period If the plants were measured every 24 hours at the same time the growth of the plants measured would be a lot more accurate Another source of error was the amount of seeds in each punnet Only two seeds were meant to be in each punnet however when the seeds started growing we noticed a third seed in one of the punnets This could have affected the sample size and made the percentage of the albino to green plant ratio not as accurate as they were
