By the end of the 18th century the cost of shipping and slaves hadrisen so much that some plantation owners were beginning to find outthey werent getting good value for money out of their slave ownersEngland had already paid around F2 million for slave-related expensesand hence some Politicians took this to their advantage and thought thatthis way slavery should be abolished and so this became a big factor tothe abolish of the slavery I think that it wasnt the Politicianswho abolished slavery but the ex slaves and the ordinary peoplethemselves with the help of the Politicians to bring the issue forwardI believe the key reasons were economic social and religious reasonsThe Politicians may have given a boost to the anti-slavery but theydidnt abolish slavery Without the valid reasons and the ex slaves andthe general public this never would have been successful at all ThePoliticians had the power to do so but the reasons for the abolititionof the slavery didnt imply to them but the slaves general public andthe reasons I have stated above A big factor in the abolitionof slavery included the social reasons created by the ordinary people obviously along with the ex-slaves which caused a big impact on thisissue This was by touring the ports by writing books creatingplaques standing up to the Politicians and many others too and thesewere put by ex-slaves and the ordinary peopleThus I believe they had abig part in the abolition of the slavery Many of these ordinary peoplebecame famous for their great doings One person like this was ClarksonClarkson dedicated his entire life to the abolition of the slavetrade As a young man he wrote an essay Is it Right to make men SlavesAgainst their Will He joined the commitee for Effecting how the slavetrade was operated He toured ports of Bristol and Liverpoolinterviewing hundreds of sailors He also talked to the suppliers of LegIrons and Branding Irons Afterwards he realised the slave trade wasworth a
