All women want different things none think the same and none want the same Some want money some want power some want knowledge and some want equality but most women just want to be loved Nobody really knows what women want other than each woman--even then she does not even know what she wants A woman always wants something but she does not always know what that something is A man cannot tell what a woman wants unless the woman tells him and even then it is not always what the woman actually wants Completely different female characters want completely different things In The Great Gatsby the main female character Daisy Buchanan wanted control of the relationship and wealth She did not have wealth with Gatsby in the beginning so she left him and found Tom who gave her everything she wanted all of the riches and glory of being rich a daughter and a secure lifestyle She was living a happy life with Tom and her daughter until Gatsby came back into her life but when she loved Gatsby before she left him for one reasonmoney So Gatsby went off to earn the money that Daisy so desired but when he came back he was just as rich as Tom and Daisy still did not leave Tom for him Even though Daisy left Gatsby for Toms money and social status she did not go back to Gatsby when he got his money but she stayed with Tom because he was secure trustworthy and had a high social status She did not fully trust Gatsby so she could never fully be herself and let go of Tom Daisys foil Myrtle wanted love and excitement She was with Tom because he gave her excitement with the apartment in New York and love aside from her husband Mr Wilson These two female characters were from the same book the same world and the same time but
