Reading is an almost romantic experience As we read our senses and emotions run haywire we imagine the scene we are reading we make up or fantasize an ending we enjoy and we explore different themes and ideas Sometimes we love certain characters and hate others We visualize what the characters look like what the scene looks like and sometimes we visualize the actions of certain characters These are all normal for a person who is reading It is our role to enjoy and visualize the novel we are reading It is also our role as a reader to interpret and understand what the author is suggesting to read between the lines Watching a film which is based on a novel on the other hand is almost like a break up Most of the time it is a heartbreaking experience The characters are nothing like you had imagined Some major themes are lost and others are introduced The reasoning behind certain actions of the characters isnt explained The setting isnt portrayed the same as it had been in the novel and your favorite scene has been changed or deleted The viewers of a film whether it is based on a novel or not dont really have a major role Their only role is to enjoy what is being presented to them Directors make everything as simple as they can in order to gain a broader audience If the film were to be very detailed and enigmatic then it would only attract people who enjoy thinking or solving clues Most people watch films as a form of entertainment to relax We arent going to watch an enigmatic film when all we want to do is relax after a long day of work or school Therefore directors make films as simple and enjoyable as they can Thus leaving not much of a role for the viewers Although both novels and films have a central meaning they are
