I Charles Darwin epitomize the study of life Through dedication and love of nature I developed an astounding sense of the adaptations and evolution of organisms particularly in the Galapagos Islands Due to my life during an early period of science I was unable to take advantage of the advanced technology that is in existence today Since 1835 many improvements have been made to classifying organisms Scuba diving equipment and tools makes it possible for scientists to go deep underwater for prolonged periods of time to observe new organisms and their development Furthermore they now have the ability to film and document sophisticated underwater cinematography and watch it later to observe in a safer environment and get a more detailed picture of the underwater ecosystem With the use of the internet scientists can send pictures of organisms and newly discovered species around the world and get quick feedback from other professionals The fastest way to observe single underwater organisms is with a vacuum type of machine that goes underwater and sucks up a fish onto the ship From there detailed pictures can be taken and other data about the organism can be written down and processed later This method of observation and classification is much more accurate than the nets used in my dayDuring my time on the Galapagos I observed a plethora of different species I discovered species ranging from the giant tortoise to land iguanas to land diving fish They were all so intriguing I even attempted riding the tortoise After returning to the Galapagos today Ive seen a couple organisms I didnt even know existed when I first went Both of them are underwater creatures of course My personal favorite of the two is the batfish Its brown spotted unfeathered wings allow it to elegantly glide across the ocean free from all worries The less prestigious but still not one to be overlooked organism is the fifty foot whale shark This filter
