My face stuck on the pavement motions blurred and my sense of what is reality was disfigured I slowly lift my face and stared at the nearby puddle filled with my blood and what I saw was a face disfigured upon recognition Cheeks puffed like a balloon eyes bloated like big balls I knew that was I because I still had the jade necklace my grandma gave me I slowly got up everything still a blur and I looked around to see if my friends were nearby They werent there but I was happy they managed to escape without getting hurt like the way I did I didnt know why I was in this state I knew I didnt do anything to offend anyone but somehow I was the one on the pavement spilling out blood As I sat down I started thinking slowly about what happened during the dayIt was a scorching afternoon when I decided to meet with some of my friends and this one girl I really liked I waited at the bus stop seven blocks away from my house to take the bus to downtown San Francisco The bus was as rowdy as ever with middle age Chinese women talking loudly in the front of the bus about the food they bought very cheaply at Chinatown All the way in the back was a group of young African American teenagers playing their music loudly and staring down anyone that opposed the music playing Like usual I stood in the middle of the bus listening to my music paying no attention to the group in the back Everything seemed completely normal until the bus stopped at this one particular bus stop A group of Latino teenagers started getting on the bus They looked around my age still in high school but they had a particular stare that struck fear from my head down to my toes It wasnt just me also everyone
