Each and every student deserves to have the best possible education In order for students in the United States to receive the best possible education there has to be dedicated teachers willing to commit to not only to their job as a teacher but also to commit to their students A teachers job is to ensure that his or her students learn the curriculum However great teachers go above and beyond to meet each childs individual learning needs When a teacher is able to meet each students individual needs that teacher is truly committed to all of his or her students However even though it may seem that this is easier said than done it is possible A teacher once told her Montgomery College class The most important thing a teacher needs to know in order to succeed as a teacher is unconditional positive regard Unconditional positive regard can be defined as unconditionally regarding each and every one of your students positively This means no matter what ethnicity or race a child may be or the type of behavioral background a student may have a great teacher will always see that child in a positive manner The moment that a teacher places a stereo type or expectation on a student is the day that that student is denied a great education It is unfortunate that students have to be treated differently because of their race or their past behaviors However as a future teacher I know that I will never place any type of stereo type or expectation on any of my students I expect for each and every one of my future students to do and give their very best as they can expect the same from me In order to become great teachers teachers need to know how to be able to relate to their students This means that if a student is misbehaving it may not be because he or she is
