Richard III and Iliad Essay Option AIn Richard III Queen Margaret strongly believes she has been done wrong and is involved in an argument with Richard Queen Elizabeth and others In the Iliad Achilles and Agamemnon both believe that they have been done wrong The strongest argument of being done wrong is that of Queen Margaret from Richard III Queen Margarets argument is the strongest among Achilles and Agamemnon because she has lost people close to her and is rejected by her former kingdom by being exiled to France Queen Margaret of Richard III believes she has been done wrong She has lost everyone close to her Her husband and sons were all killed In the Iliad Achilles does not lose and has not lost any relative or friend very close to him like Queen Margaret of Richard III His mother the goddess Thetis and his grandfather the Old Man of the Sea are alive and in contact with Achilles Book I Lines 423-424 Achilles has not had the experience of having someone he loves killed or murdered Even when Agamemnon takes Briseis Achilles eventually gets her back He doesnt ever experience having someone taken away permanently through death Agamemnon the supreme commander of the army in the Iliad also does not experience permanently losing someone dear to him Having Agamemnon constantly talk about taking away other mens prizes so he will not be alone shows this Agamemnon is willing to take a prize or someone elses if they give him nothing Book I line 161 He does not know what it feels like to lose someone so he doesnt empathize with the people he takes women from Agamemnon like Achilles also has not lost anyone in his family His father King Atreus his brother Menelaus and his brothers wife are alive throughout the book and are never taken from Agamemnon even temporarily Queen Margaret of Richard III is rejected highly by her peers She
