I do not think Americans have lived up to it ideals of the declarationof Independence The reason is look at our past we had slavery and little girls the ageof seven to twelve working in factories Also if there not going to let blacks get on thebus then they will start a boycott like the 1950s But for now her is an example of howthe Montgomery boycott started in 1955On December 1st of 1955 Mrs Rosa Parks a 42 year old woman boarded acity bus and sat in the first row of seats in the black section of the bus Whensome white men got on the bus the driver James F Blake ordered Mrs Parks to give upher seat and move back She refused to move and Blake called the police to have herarrested And thats when the montgomery bus boycott started and continued up into1956 The Montgomery bus Boycott was a very significant event in the civil rightsmovement which spanned the 1950s and 60s The boycott was important because itcaught the attention of the entire nation For a while this country was in war and it still is Take for instancethe battle Gettysburg In that battle we had people from Virginia attackingPhiladelphia For a while we were fighting ourselves for land and resources And every manwas fighting for his country Well the women were upset because they could not fight inthe war Another thing is making little girls from ages seven through twelve workin the factories back in the dayIn the 1980s blacks and whites did not get along with each other Someblacks could not go to the same school as whites or drink out of the samewater fountain until Martin Luther King Jr came and said to stop segregation Before thatall happened blacks were slaves some blacks were forced to work on a plantation withlittle food and little pay They could not even go home to their families unlessthey escaped
