Corey was more of a leader rather than a role-model In fact his constant obsession over grades seemed to put a lot of unnecessary pressure on him Who would find that appealing His constant complaining of having too much homework and his serious nature plainly lead to people hating him Also he was extremely bigot on many topics which made him unpleasant to argue with However even with his voluminous issues Corey was still able to alter my judgment and maturity which I believe has helped me transform from childhood to adulthood My second semester junior year I decided to sign up for AP Chemistry Fully aware of the challenging course work I kept to my prejudiced childlike way of thinking which at that time was that there was no need to try At the time I didnt highly value school or any type of education for that matter I vividly remember the look on Coreys face when he walked into class the first day Immediately he noticed me from previous classes which we had never spoken to one another in and that I had been sitting alone He looked away and around the classroom for a better option to sit with perhaps someone he was more familiar with Eventually he put his backpack down by my desk and sat down Little did he know that he would have such a big impact on my life Until we became better acquainted with each other a majority of our conversations had to do with classwork or homework Lab work provided a useful tool for bringing us together and when we got to know each other more his work ethic and thinking seemed to coincide with mine After long hours of partnered lab work for instance his approach on solving complex spectroscopy problems began to rub off on me I began to think more rationally and complex problems in general began to make clearer sense in my
