Education is a significant aspect in an individuals life as it prepares one for a career and teaches one life lessons New experiences form and one gets ready for adulthood During the five years of high school students are able to create close bonds with friends from elementary school teachers and new people they meet Students build an image for themselves that remains throughout the years The next step after high school is college or university which is a defining stage in an individuals life While the leap from high school to college can be arduous and intimidating dedication can result in success Although the two worlds are distinct they have similarities as well The transition from high school to college changes a students lifestyle immensely along with the workload responsibilities and costs Firstly the amount of work completed in high school is of a different capacity than in college Students get a few assignments per week and they are usually worth a lower amount compared to college assignments which can each be worth fifteen percent or more of the final grade However some teachers in high school may have assignments worth more In addition because of the heavy workload in college students may not have much leisure time In high school students have the opportunity to join various clubs and sports teams In college students have the same option but it may be hard to prioritize their schedule to participate outside of school Furthermore high school and college both require a great deal of effort since students must study extra hours in the week But in college more effort and studying is required since the assignments are more challenging and laborious Students have many more readings to complete from textbooks or journals and they should not fall behind in their workload otherwise it will be difficult to catch up If a student misses an assignment in high school it will not have a
