Bridget's feedback:
"You do well in posing and responding to a question that continues to vex America's understanding of its role in the world. Because you use the 1945-1975 timeline (first sentence), consider addressing pre-1954 events a little more fully to help contextualize America's entrance into a French concern as WWII shifted into the Cold War (this may entail widening your discussion beyond containment and into imperialism). Similarly, consider a final body paragraph that takes the reader from your last timestamp (1965) up to 1975 to help your reader understand why America stayed.
In terms of lower-order concerns, a main task will be to format the block quotations so the reader more easily distinguishes your text from the quotations. I also encourage you to consider if quoting that much material enhances the discussion. In particular, I notice the Scheer 76-77 quotation alludes to the domino theory, but because it is not incorporated into your own text, this goes unmentioned; the effect is to cede control of the material over to that material's rhetoric, which fails to enhance ethos. As possible, harness the quotations to your project to level up the analysis."
