For many years women have not been able to participate and usually been discriminated in many circumstances such as unable to vote get less pay for an equal work could not own property had no educational and career opportunities Until nineteenth century women have gained the right to vote and continue on with other rights Most people believe Afghanistan these days mostly focus on war but no one knows women in the society still suffer with the discrimination In an article named I am for sale interviewed Masha Hamilton illustrates a picture of a girl who does not have any rights since she was born If to ask a girl what she wants to do when she grows up she might answer that she wants to become a doctor a lawyer or a teacher However if people take a look of a girl in the article she always stands in a shadow whose has no right to even dream even though she is a wonderful writer As a result womens right in Afghanistan today is limited because of many factors causes by family and society For the most part women in Afghanistan cannot choose their own path of education although their dream is unlimited As a unique woman Masha gets the encouragement from her father to achieve her academic even though women are banned to be educated However her father passed away as she was finishing high school and no one supports her anymore Her brother becomes responsible for her and he forces her to get married Yet for her the marriage will mean the opposite of life an end to her studies her work outside the home her connections to non-Afghans Masha is an exception because most women do not have the right of attending school Even though she is finishing her high school her brother tries to stop her with a marriage which forbids her to come toward her bright future with her
