As history books have been studied over time people have noticed many distinct similarities in the events written This is because people didnt learn from their mistakes People have tried to figure out why this happens and how they can stop it But even the United States US is making this mistake again and again including right now As Santayana says Those who dont remember the past are condemned to repeat it To most people this means learn from your mistakes otherwise you will make them againOne of the many examples of history repeating itself is the war in Iraq and the possible actions that the US is considering in Syria In Iraq the US went to war because of the suspicion that they had weapons of mass destruction The US felt that they had a job to be the Police of the world They felt this because they were the strongest country in the world and the only on in the position to lead an attack It turned out that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction even though the US thought that they had proof that Iraq did The war ended up being much longer and more difficult than we ever expected In Syria once again the US is policing another foreign country But this time the US has proof that chemical weapons were used agents the people of Syria by the leaders of Syria The US is getting involved they are not sure how yet but they are planning on doing something either military or negotiating the removal of all chemical weapons In Iraq the US could not foresee what the consequences of their actions In Syria which is a similar situation the US cannot foresee the possible long term consequences of their actionsMistakes repeating themselves dont always just happen to countries they can happen to individual people An
