Describe at least ONE character or individual who changed in the written texts Explain how the change helped you to better understand the character or individualIn the autobiography Chinese Cinderella which is written by Adeline Yen Mah one character who changed which helped me to better understand her was Adeline herself The change that took place made me understand the character better by giving me a wider view and better opinion of Adeline and her life In order to understand a character like Adeline better you have to look at them in different ways and different times which is what the change throughout the autobiography helped with This change was highlighted to the reader by dialogue quotes and characterisationIn the autobiography Adeline is portrayed as the main character Ever since the day she was born she has been known as bad luck to her own family and is held against many superstitions such as her supposedly being the cause of her mothers death Big sister once told her But then mama died giving birth to you If you had not been born mama would still be alive She died because of you You are bad luck Adeline is constantly reminded by her family that no one wants her and nobody cares for her Adeline is an unwanted member of her family This is shown by her father not wanting anything to do with her and him not even knowing what day she was born Adelines step mother Niang has loathed her right from the beginning and shows no respect or love to Adeline whatsoever The way her family other than Aunt Baba treats here is with spite and jealousy No one is interested in anything she does and they think she is bad blood and an absolute shame to the family Aunt Baba is the only one who is close to her and looks after her She is like a mother to Adeline Adeline continually
