In this paper I will demonstrate how culture and family affect a persons life I chose to interview Reed Rothchild because I know him for many years I feel comfortable interviewing him for forty five minutes and I think his life is interesting I learned that when you have the same race or culture as someone as it is easier to adjust to one another Also how culture and family have a big effect on a childs upbringing One of the fragment involves most of Rothchild friends from high school do not make it to college I find this interesting because the interviewee said from elementary to high school the majority was Latino but now in college the minority is Latino I think could be caused by family and culture Another fragment involves how people with the same culture tend to associate with one another I find this interesting because this shows me why most people rarely associated with different cultures This falls into Chapter three key Ethnocentrism which is the belief in the superiority of ones own ethnic group Ethnocentrism is often push on to members of societies The interviewee states that he has a connection with people from the same race This falls in into chapter 3 society and culture- Ethnocentrism and Culture Relativity I think people tend to associate with people from the same race because they may have the same up bringings because there is less of a chance to have misunderstanding or conflict Throughout Rothchild life more than half of his classmates have Latino but now entering college Rothchild has few Latino classmates I asked What happen to your Latino friends from middle school and high school Why did they not go to college Reed Rothchild answer Most of them go to community college few that go to Universities but a few that I know that dropped out because of the work load Yea most of the
