Fast food has become an easy meal easy way out of cooking andoccasionally cheaper than going to the store and buying the ingredientsto fix a homemade meal Most families are too busy and always are onthe go that stopping through the drive-thru is more convenient and lesswork for the parents to do than spending the time fixing a healthymeal With some of the benefits for families short on time the fastfood industry has also caused more problems than good Fast food hasraised the obesity rates especially among children The fast foodindustrys main target is children knowing how easy it is for them toconvince their parents for greasy food than to make food at home Fastfood has caused much harm and problems for our societyChildren have always been the main target to the fast food industrybut recently the companies have done more research and have made kidstheir own menus made special television commercials and put games ontheir websites to draw children in more Jennifer Harris of the YaleUniversity Rudd Center for Food Policy Obesity found in marketingdata that a staggering around of fast-food advertising starts targetingchildren that are as young as 2 years old Fox In 2009 the fast foodindustry spent 49 billion dollars advertising on television theinternet social media websites and mobile applications Fox InAmerica two-thirds of adults are obese and 15 percent of children inAmerica are overweight Childhood obesity is over 30 percent in manystates Many families are aware of this growing epidemic but many areunwilling to change their daily lives to change their eating habitsMany families are constantly on the go whether its sports gamesmeetings family functions you name it every family has an excuseWhen families are constantly outside the home the quick fix to an emptystomach and that will not break their wallets is going and filling up ongreasy fast foods Parents have stated that when they go groceryshopping that they get what their children want so they are not angry
