Every day we come in contact with many different people who affect our lives in various ways Some of these people have greater impacts than others my soccer coach Marcus Kelcher is one of those people He has helped shape me into the person that I am today both on and off the soccer field Throughout his own life Marcus has faced many difficulties of his own many of which have made him the person he is today Based on his own experiences Marcus has taught me to value the fortunate life that I have and to not take anything for granted Marcus has invested a vast amount of his time towards providing the opportunity for female soccer players to train play and compete at the very highest skill level He is very passionate about what he does and is ultimately leading all of us female soccer players to the award of collegiate scholarships at some of the nations top schools I am fortunate in this sense because Marcus has quite a lot of connections to different Division I college programs across the country I have had the opportunities to visit many different schools in the early years of my high school career In that aspect he has helped shape me into the soccer player that I am today one who has earned a soccer scholarship to play here at Texas AM University Without his knowledge and expertise I would not be fortunate enough and thankful for the opportunity to play collegiate level soccer and have my education paid for at the same time I am very grateful for the support Marcus has given me on the soccer field but it is the life lessons off the soccer field that I appreciate far more and take to heart Through his own shared Christian values I have become closer to God and have far
