What if there was no legilative branch and the president had all the power to do both make laws and enforce laws In 1787 in Philadelphia the Constitution was written How did the constitution protect against all the power in one place Tyranny means that all the power is one place The Constitution guarded against tyranny in several ways which were federalism seperation of powers checks and balances and big states vs small statesThe first guard against tyranny was federalism which means to divide the powers between state and national government The different government will each control each other at the same time that each will be controlled by itself Doc A Federalism protects against tyranny because the powers were divided between national and state governmentA second guard against tyranny was seperation of powers which mean that the government was divided into three different powers The three different powers are legislative executive and judicial They all keep tyranny from happeningDoc B Seperation of powers protect against tyranny because it keeps all of the states and important things from getting to strongThe third guard was checks and balances which means all of the three branches have to check on each other The three branches should not so far be seperated as to have no constitutional control over each other Doc C Checks and balances protects against tyranny because that gives the power fo all the brancher to check on each other so that none get to powerfulThe fourth guard against tyranny was big states vs small states which means making sure big states dont get to much power If the big states got all the power than the small states wouldnt get no say in important stuff Doc D Big states vs Small states protects against tyranny because all of the states will have the same rights If the big states get to much power than we would have tyrannyThe constition guards against tyranny the four
