You are what you wear - Corey Haim People are constantlytossing around the saying you are what you eat but in actualityits what you wear Many times a persons first impression is based onthe others appearance their clothing If a man were dressed in baggyclothes people would be more suspicious of him then a man with abusiness suit on The other day a man came into a store dressed with abig baggy shirt and his pants almost falling off It turned out that hehad stolen 5 purses from the store and simply walked out The salesmanwas suspicious of him but did not want to seem too forward by followinghim around the store Had someone dressed more appropriate and decentcame into the store the salesman would have never been skeptical of himThis anecdote goes to show how much a persons attire can affect anotherpersons opinion People can say a lot about themselves without even saying a word Theway they dress speaks volumes about them When a person decides what towear they are making a strong statement as what they want to beperceived as A young man with his pants almost falling off a red belthanging down and a bandana is making a statement saying he is part of agang He dresses the way he does so people can realize what side herepresents Same principal goes for women Women who dress provocativelyare making a statement whether they like it or not Many state theydress the way they do because it is their right and in no way arethey purposely victimizing men In the article Just Be Nice by StephenL Carter he states for the right even if calledself-expression comes from no source other than desire Meaning thatwhat some people may find as their right is only a matter of whatthey think they should be allowed to do Women dressed provocatively arestating that they dont mind men looking after them People
