Technology has increased significantly over the last ten years In that short period of time there have been drastic changes of technological device usage in the United States Most young people and children are exposed to digital devices for several hours every day and many older adults are not far behind Many people interact more with their devices than with others around them creating a gap between human physical interactions Technology has played a major role in affecting human interaction without humans even noticing the side effects it has caused and how it effects our daily lives Technology has affected the way we see and interact with others Todays generation has become so attached to digital devices and relies on them to interact with others on a constant daily basis The normal way of interacting with others is now through via email texts social media Therefore lowering the actual human face to face interaction Studies have shown that infants who interact with people and have constant interaction with their parents appear to be healthier If this is true in an infants life then it must be true for adults as well Research has shown that people are so busy catching up with their devices and staying updated with society that they isolate themselves from interacting with others Even at a young age this problem is starting to affect young children it is now harder to motivate children to play outside because of video games and social media They have replaced physical activity and interacting with other children with staying inside with their devices It is less common for families to have spent quality time together because all the members are so busy with technology and social media This factor affects us as a new generation and the next ones to come our minds are In 2005 85 of college students had a Facebook account Arrington 2005
