After I analyze the story A walker in the city I shared a connection with the character He begins describing his home town and the way it has changed but it still remains the same odd right The stores seem to continue where they were last time he saw them He guides us into where he grew up After being very explanatory about his town he starts driving us into his religion and his roots His native language wasnt English But lets take a step back and begin clarifying who is he in this story Alfred a boy who grew up in a poor Jewish neighborhood who then moves out to the suburban area know as New York he then realizes that he is a stranger to the city He explains his situations in school and how tough it was to speak the language To native English speakers the words and the language are very easy to speak but to someone who first language isnt English it becomes a puzzle to figure it out When I was seven years old and first stepped foot in the city I was terrified I kind of felt like Alfred a stranger in a city nothing seems the same and nothing sounded the same While many of my friends were having normal classes I had to take extra classes to learn English Many times I begged my mother to let me stay home but she always pushed me to go to school People werent very nice and made fun of me because I didnt understand what they were saying and laugh at me But ten years after I am so happy that now I almost master the English language Almost To end this Alfred and I were very bright kids and not only did we get trough those situations we manage to move forward
