Theres No Such Thing As Business Ethics Staring at the book lying on the coffee table I was faced with my own ethical dilemma skim the book during commercial breaks in this manner I could write about and discuss those points that I remembered clearly and claim that they were my favorite points or pick up the remote lying next to the book tap the power button and settle in for a comprehensive reading session this would provide me with a plethora of information on which to base my paper and discussion It was in that moment that I realized that I indeed needed to read the book What I didnt realize however was what I would actually gain from reading John C Maxwells book The beginnings of the text were somewhat boring to me and I found my focus drifting several times throughout the first three chapters Whether it was due to bland information or simply the desire to just put the book down and finish watching NipTuck I am unsure I skimmed back over the initial chapters once I was farther into the book and had begun taking notes when I actually recalled a few points that I had found mildly interesting The first of which is the true revelation of the hypocrisy of many individuals within society today The author points out that The same person who cheats on his taxes or steals office supplies wants honesty and integrity from the corporation whose stock he buys the politician he votes for and the client he deals with in his own business 13-14 While sad this is very true of people - I actually have a friend Ryan who was seeking a no strings attached sexual relationship with a girl a friends with benefits situation so to speak This same girl was actually involved in a similar relationship with another male friend of hers Ryan became so jealous that he wasnt the other
